OBITUARIES
John T. Frary, a resident of Craig, Colorado since 1986 and formerly a priest in the Episcopal Church, died on February 24, 2010, at Bonell Good Samaritan Community in Greeley, Colorado, at the age of 88. The Reverend Frary, who was known throughout northwest Colorado and southwest Wyoming as Father John, had served as vicar of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Craig until 1996 and as vicar of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Dixon, Wyoming, until December 1999, when he retired from active ministry at St. Paul's. Father John left the ministry of the Episcopal Church, made his Profession of Faith and was confirmed and became a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church at Craig, Colorado, in May, 2002, along with his wife, Eloise.
A native of Denver, Father John lived and worked there until May, 1944, when he entered the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Navy in July, 1966, and in September of that year was hired as a Training Administrator by the U.S. Civil Service. He retired from the Civil Service in 1974 and was hired as Educational Services Coordinator by the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics Corporation at Quonset Point, Rhode Island. Father John graduated from Rhode Island College, Cum Laude, in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. He retired form General Dynamics in May, 1983, and was ordained Deacon in the Episcopal Church in the same month. He and his wife moved from Rhode Island to Craig in December, 1986. He was ordained priest of the Episcopal Church at St. Mark's in Craig.
Both his wife and a daughter, Carol Y. Kimbriel, died in the summer of 2002. His cousins, George Oren Robertson and Janie Robertson, long time residents of Craig, have also died. Father John is survived by a son, John Stephen Frary, of Littleton, Colorado, two daughters, Naomi S, Premer of Evans, Colorado, and Sidney L. Johnson of Reston, Virginia, seven grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. A Service of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael's Church, Craig, Colorado, on Friday, March 5, 2010, at 2:00 PM. The service will be followed by cremation and privately interment at a later date by Grant Mortuary at Reader Cemetery in Savery, Wyoming. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010. At 10 a.m. at St. Paul's in Dixon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church, to the Moffat County Humane Society, to the Gideons International, and to the National Jewish Hospital in Denver, Colorado.

Margaret E. “Bette” Hackett was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Cheyenne, Wyo., the daughter of Ransom Gill and Mabel (Shenefelt) McCargar. She was raised and attended school in Rawlins, Wyo. After high school, Bette worked for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Wash., building B-29s, and then in Denver where she loaded shells for the U.S. Army. Bette married Donald Richard Hackett in 1948, and they became the parents of four children. They made their home in Sinclair and Rawlins. Bette was a homemaker and while in Rawlins worked as a front desk clerk at the Bucking Horse Motel. They were later divorced, and Bette moved to the Little Snake River in the early 1980s and has made her home there since that time.
She was very fond of her dogs and enjoyed fishing, doing puzzles, playing cards and board games. She also was active in the Baggs Senior Center affairs and enjoyed visiting with people. Bette was a very strong-willed lady, which was displayed when she recovered much better than expected from her fractured hip and pelvis a year ago. Bette is survived by her longtime companion, Chuck Norlander, of Baggs, Wyo.; sons Ransom (Jean) Hackett, of Baggs, Wyo., John (Pam) Hackett, of Hillsboro, Ore., and Quincy Hackett, of Rawlins, Wyo.; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Cheryl and brother Ransom Gill McCargar. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service was Feb. 24, 2010, at The Little Snake River Community Church with Pastor Paul Prestrud officiating. The soloist was Rae Lynne Prestrud, who sang “Amazing Grace,” accompanied by Florine Daugherty. Honorary pallbearers were “All Bette’s Family and Her Many Friends.” Memorial donations may be made to the Little Rascals Preschool in care of Grant Mortuary.

Wayne L. Walker died Feb. 20, 2010, after a brief illness in Rawlins. A celebration of is life is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. March 1, 2010, at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Evansville. Wayne was born to Hilda M. (Runge) and Charles T. Walker on Dec. 30, 1949, in Pine Island, Minn. His family moved to Linch when he was 1. Wayne attended schools in Linch and Kaycee, he graduated from high school in Midwest. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and served two tours in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1971.
Wayne then went to work for Engine Service in Casper. He married Debby (Williams) from Slater, Colo. on Nov. 25, 1972, in Dixon. In 1983, Wayne and Debby moved to Cheyenne, where he owned and operated three separate businesses; an Amoco service station, a Mac Tool Distributorship and an auto repair service. He was always a mechanic. In 2002, they retired in Slater, Colo. Wayne and Debby had a miniature horse herd, cats and dogs (kids). He was not one to be idle for long, so he went to work for Wackenhut at the Sinclair Refinery in 2004, where he was employed until his death.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Debby of Slater, Colo; his three sisters, LaVae Wantoch of Fountain City, Wis., Sally Bates of Rochester, Minn., DeVel Clymer of Midwest and one brother, C. Doug Walker of Casper. God needed some new jokes, so he called our best friend, husband, brother, uncle and nephew, home. He is most certainly now, giving his “kids” candy.

Allen J. Groshart died Jan. 5, 2010, at the Valley View Rehabilitation and Care Center in Saratoga. He was 89 years old. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Encampment Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Rafael Quiles officiating and Veterans Military Honors. A celebration of his life is scheduled to follow the graveside services at the Encampment Presbyterian Church at 918 Rankin Ave.
Allen was born June 23, 1920, on the family ranch near Savery, the son of Owen and Lydia Groshart. He attended schools at Savery and graduated from Baggs High School in 1939.
He attended Wyo. Aircraft School in Cheyenne, graduated and went to work for Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle, Wash. until the attack on Pearl Harbor.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater from July 1942 until Dec. 1945 with the US Army, attached to the USAAF, stocking and delivering war supplies to the troops in mainland Europe.
He then returned to Wyoming and went to work for the Sinclair Refinery Corporation from 1946 until his retirement in 1977. Allen married Jessie Fay Daniels in Fort Collins, Colo. on June 4, 1946. They moved to Sinclair where they lived and raised three children before moving to Encampment in 1969.
Allen enjoyed artifact hunting, game hunting, fishing, camping and traveling around the rural parts of the state and the country. He also enjoyed playing cribbage, pool and throwing horseshoes. He looked forward to watching college football games (with the sound off if the Wyoming Cowboys were on the radio) and watching the PBR on the television.
Allen is survived by his son, Lee (Kristi) Groshart of Sinclair, daughter Janel (Tom) Myrick of Lyman, five grandsons; Gerry (Jolene) Wolford, Troy Stangland, Owen, Andrew(Kellen) and Justin Groshart; three granddaughters, Mary (Thomas) Lundy, Trina (Ethan) Norris, and Giselle (Dave) Goulette, seven great-grandchildren, Mariah, Wren, Fisher, Matthew, Thomas, Hudson and Camryn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Lydia Groshart, a daughter Linda Groshart in 1989 and his wife Jessie after 51 years of marriage in 2007.
Casket bearers are Gerry Wolford, Andrew Groshart, Justin Groshart, Troy Stangland, Owen Groshart and Dennis Eckes. Honorary bearers are Dave Goulette, Ethan Norris, Thomas Lundy, Raymond Martin, Vern Wagner, Stanley O. Ross and Tom Myrick.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in memory of Linda Groshart.

Eileen Frances Jones Lepponen was born on Dec. 23, 1918, in Dixon. She died on Feb. 6, 2010. A memorial service is scheduled on Friday at 11 a.m. at the North Park Community Church in Walden.
Eileen was the daughter of Wilbur “Roy” and Alice Jones and the granddaughter of D.C. and Tennessee Jones. She grew up in the Little Snake River Valley before moving to Walden, where she married Peter Lepponen. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dayton Jones. She is survived by her nephew, Larry Jones of Sinclair.
Many obituaries contain dates, places, names and activities. However, Eileen being a very “social” person, if you were acquainted with her, you found out about the family history, community happenings, updates on the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and the latest aches and pains. Not much went unshared. If it was your first visit, or the next, you knew her.

Woodrow Wayne Clark, of Green River, died Jan. 23, 2010, in a snowmobiling accident near Lost Creek, east of Baggs.
Wayne Clark was born April 13, 1970, in Farmington, NM, to Larry and Ann Clark.
Wayne started his education attending pre-kindergarten in Holland while his family was residing there and learned to speak Dutch with the children. He started his American education in Evanston and then his family moved to Baggs in 1977 where Wayne attended school and graduated from high school in December 1989.
Wayne married Tanya Sarah Mobley on Dec. 29, 1993, in Meeker, Colo. where the bride grew up. The couple lived in and around the Baggs area, Rock Springs and most recently in Green River, where Wayne worked as a truck driver in oil field related jobs. He continued to return to his home stomping grounds as a local of the Snake River Valley where his friends and family reside.
Wayne and Tanya have three sons, Brody, Dalton and Jaxson. Wayne was an avid snowmobiler, hunter and fisherman with a love of the outdoors and passed this enthusiasm on to his sons.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 16 years, Tanya; three sons, Brody Wayne, age 12, Dalton Roy, age 9, and Jaxson Lee, age 6 of Green River; his father and mother, Larry and Ann Clark; brother Steven and wife Jennifer; nieces Courtney, Ashley and Brianna; and nephew Clayton, all of Baggs; grandmother Vera Clark of Farmington, along with aunts, uncles and cousins. Also several family members living in Meeker, Colo.
Wayne is preceded in death by his grandfather Woodrow Clark and his father-in-law, Alan Mobley.
Services are scheduled for Friday in Baggs with internment at the Reader Cemetery in Savery.
